The all-female cast of the new Ghostbusters film was announced last month — and now ANOTHER remake of the hit 1984 film is in the works!
Channing Tatum, 34, has teamed up with original ‘Ghostbusters’ star Dan Aykroyd, 62, and director Ivan Reitman to both create and star in a male-centric reboot of the classic story, Reitman confirmed this week.

The new comedy will be a counterpart to Paul Feig’s remake — starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon — which is set to be released in theaters summer 2016, Reitman explained.
“We want to expand the ‘Ghostbusters’ universe in ways that will include different films, TV shows, merchandise, all things that are part of modern filmed entertainment,” he said. “Paul Feig’s film will be the first version of that, shooting in June to come out in July 2016.”

“He’s got four of the funniest women in the world, and there will be other surprises to come. [My] film has a wonderful idea that builds on that. It’s just the beginning of what I hope will be a lot of wonderful movies,” he told ‘Deadline.’
The original flick starred Bill Murray, 64, Dan, Ernie Hudson, 69 and Harold Ramis — who passed away last year at age 69 — as an eccentric group of guys who start a ghost-catching business in NYC.
According to Reitman, the new ‘Ghostbusters’ project will likely appear in theaters in 2017.
