The Cartier Halo Tiara was first bought by King George VI as an anniversary gift for his wife, the Queen Mother. She later gave the headpiece to her daughter, Queen Elizabeth, who let her daughter, Princess Anne, wear it to a formal New Zealand event in 1970.
